iPhone 16 is currently big hype in mid-2024 and everyone expect Apple will bring innovative features, and although it was rumored to be released around 2025. However, Apple did not announce anything related with new hardware and devices in Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), but instead Apple brought news about news updates about iOS 18 and MacOS Sequoia, which improves notable AI capability from Apple, Siri.
Since there’s no new official announcements about iPhone 16 in June 2024, people expect Apple will keep improving iPhone 16 based on current trending topics, such as AI-Generated Content, Virtual Reality, and security improvements.
About AI-Generated Content in iPhone 16
When everyone heard about iPhone 16 will bring feature with AI-Generated Content, Apple shouldn’t bring that feature because most people keep raging on AI images and videos over the internet. Instead, Apple should bring to detect between AI content and original content, since Meta still messed up by tagging real photos as AI images.
About Virtual Reality in iPhone 16
Virtual Reality in iPhone 16 might be impossible for now, because Apple already released Apple Vision Pro at February 2, 2024 for US-residents only but the availability on Apple Vision Pro will become less restricted in mid-2024. iPhone 15 still only have Augmented Reality (AR), so the Virtual Reality in iPhone 16 will be unlikely happen.
Security Improvements in iOS 18
One notable security improvement in iOS 18 is you can hide your apps with Face ID feature. When your friend or other people using your iPhone, some apps will be hidden and they can’t know those hidden apps unless the owner itself.

In the picture 1, the owner can enable Face ID to unlock “Photos” app, which means no one besides the owner can use “Photos” app. In the picture 2 some apps like “Treble Threat” might still visible on Settings, but they still need Face ID to use “Treble Threat” and they can’t abuse it with Siri. In the last picture, aka 3, other people still can see hidden apps through the library with name “Hidden” (at the bottom right screen). While some people might give zero thoughts with the “empty hidden library”, iPhone users will probably still suspicious, because they know iOS 18 have hidden apps feature. This feature is still imperfect, but at least Apple worked so hard to enhance security on Apple devices.
Closing Words
Although there’s no official announcements about iPhone 16 in 2024, don’t give up your hope. Your old iPhone still good enough to cover your lifestyle and with new iOS 18 software update, you can bring your security one-step tougher than before. New iPhone won’t boost your productivity if you still unproductive. And more importantly, Apple usually release new iPhone every year, so the chance iPhone 16 will come in late-2024 is still high.
