Meta AI goes one step further in improving the AI assistant, and it improves as time flies. Meta AI is available on WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger. So far, Meta is accessible in 22 countries and now available in various countries such as Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru and Cameroon. More languages were also available, including French, German, Hindi, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. Although there’s no official announcement when Meta AI will be available 100% in every country, it’s possible Meta can wrap up this objective before the end of 2024.
What’s the new ‘Imagine Me’ feature from Meta AI?
‘Imagine Me’ is similar to ‘Imagine’ by Meta AI, but in ‘Imagine Me,’ they’ll use your profile photo instead as the basic template. To allow Meta AI to imagine your photo, you need to access the Meta AI through the purple Meta ring icon (depending on your device, the Meta AI icon should appear on the top right after the camera icon for iOS or at the bottom right corner above the “+“ icon for Android. If you didn’t see the Meta AI icon on your phone, that means Meta AI isn’t available in your country yet.
Type ‘@Meta AI imagine me’ and what you want to do with your photo. For example, if you want to be a journalist, type ‘@Meta AI imagine me as a journalist’. If you type the message correctly, Meta AI will process the image on your input, and after it’s done, Meta AI will send that image in mere seconds.

‘Imagine Me‘ is very good and has potential. It can generate your imagination through the image in a few seconds. However, there are many things to reconsider. People can exploit the ‘Imagine Me‘ for harmful purposes, as AI is primarily available for everyone.
A good example is Erica Lindbeck’s case, the voice of Futaba Sakura in Persona 5 and Loona in Hazbin Hotel. She realized anyone could use her voice without her permission by using AI-generated video. Erica Lindbeck had already asked anyone to remove that content, but it was too late since most people had already used her voice, and people kept reposting similar content with her voice. Because of this, Erica Lindbeck deleted her X (Formerly Twitter) account. The writer and narrative designer Anna Webster said, “Voice actors are additional collaborators on a project, not a weird sock puppet to say what you want!”
Hopefully, Meta will understand the problem above. We don’t want Meta to use our imagination pictures for commercial purposes, especially when Meta still needs to learn more about users’ privacy and differentiate between real and AI images.
Besides these issues above, ‘Imagine Me’ can be exciting for anyone with passion and creativity in arts. Maybe they can create something wonderful only with this feature, or maybe not. Don’t imagine too far when using ‘Imagine Me’ with Meta AI, even though Meta stated this feature is highly encrypted.
